Job Overview

The Maintenance Electrician is a multi-craft maintenance position that is responsible for daily preventive maintenance such as general electrical work, machine repair, completion of work orders on plant equipment during down shifts; and performing troubleshoots and repairing equipment on operating shifts.

A Day In The Life

Every day at Hubbell is different and you’ll contribute in many ways. On any given day, you’ll make a difference by: 

  • Troubleshooting of critical equipment upon failure.
  • Troubleshooting and repairing AC & DC Motors and Control Circuits.
  • Reading/Interpreting Electrical, Electronic, Hydraulic, Pneumatic, and Instrumentation Drawings, Schematics, and Technical Manuals.
  • Installing, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing PLC and/or DCS Hardware, Software and Controls.
  • Maintaining 480/240 Volt 3 phase MCC and Power Distribution Systems.
  • Replacing Electrical Control Devices (Limit, Proximity and Photo Switches, Pneumatic and Hydraulic Valves, etc.).
  • Performing Preventive and Predictive maintenance.
  • Moving and setting up equipment as needed.
  • Wiring equipment and electrical drops within a high voltage area.
  • Installing and repairing electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic industrial equipment.
  • Repairing and correcting safety concerns.

What will help you thrive in this role?

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Previous maintenance experience in an industrial environment
  • Industrial electrical experience (required) 
  • Ability to work in an atmosphere that will range from 15 to 20 degrees higher than outside temperature (required) 
  • Constant lifting, carrying, push, pull of up to15 lbs. (required)
