Position Overview

This position’s primary responsibility will be to partner with both the Sourcing and New Product Development teams to develop, standardize and align on tools that facilitate the Total Cost of Ownership transparency. These roles will be a support network to drive Productivity, Commodity Alignment, Cost documentation and communicate both internally and externally how the Business Groups are establishing cost positions.

This role is responsible for overseeing the configuration of BOMs from design to production focusing on BOM integrity from a supply chain and manufacturability perspective.

This highly cross functional role will proactively partner with, Engineering, Sourcing, NPD, Purchasing teams and Suppliers to play a key role in process improvement, value creation and supporting new product development activities.

Duties and Responsibilities

This role is responsible for overseeing the configuration of BOMs from design to production focusing on BOM integrity from a supply chain and manufacturability perspective.

Audits BOMs and Routings to identify and fix problems arising from interconnections between ERP and manufacturing.

Perform Make vs Buy Analysis as part of key strategic decisions.

Drive discipline in ongoing operations as well as New Product Development programs.

Drive re-/in-/out-source, cost out projects in liaison with project team (R&D, Sourcing)

Support NPI/NPX efforts.

Facilitate meetings between suppliers and engineers in support of existing project projects.

Identify, develop, and implement supplier base rationalization to improve operational effectiveness.

Work with Sourcing Managers to develop cost out strategies.

Lead projects and handle sensitive issues.

Manage aspects of new supplier onboarding, including but not limited to qualification, assurance of supply, and execution to project timelines-schedules

Skills and Experience

Experience in Project Management

5+ Experience in NPD/NPI

Proficient understanding of Bills of materials, master BOMs, multi-level BOMs, configurable BOMs and sub-assemblies.

5+ years’ experience with BOM management and BOM creation in SAP

Excellent interpersonal skills, confident to interface and communicate at all levels of the organization

Must be highly self-motivated

Understanding of manufacturing and supply requirements in BOM.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Supply Chain related field

Ability to collaborate effectively in a remote team.

Travel will be required.
