Job Overview
This position will work in the Acme division of Hubbell, producing electrical transformers and related power systems. The Mechanical Engineer will work in a team responsible for taking high level design detail and developing detailed production drawings and bills of material. In addition, this position will work closely with the Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Purchasing and Sales personnel to ensure- product are produced correctly and on time.
A Day In The Life
- Create 3-D models and 2-D drawings for multiple product lines in Solidworks.
- Create Bills of Material & Routings for products within SAP
- Per engineer's general direction, produce and/or revise drawings.
- Maintain consistency in drawing layout and appearance per Acme standards.
- Ensure proper filling of issued drawings in both physical (if applicable) and electronic files.
- Provide feedback to appropriate Engineer as to problems or questions related work in progress.
- Resolve drawing related manufacturing and/or purchasing issues with appropriate plant personnel.
- Analyze dimension requirements and apply appropriate tolerance specifications as required.
- Provide working copies of drawings to engineers and production personnel as necessary.
- Acquire technical data via catalogs, the internet, vendors, to create models and drawings
- Transform initial rough product designs or sketches into working models and documents.
- Utilize knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematics, materials, and other physical sciences to complete drawings

- Comfortable in the dynamic atmosphere of a technical organization with a rapidly expanding customer base with unique Engineered to Order (ETO) products
- Proficient with AutoCAD and SolidWorks
- Fluent with SAP or similar ERP systems
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- Able to generate/read/interpret schematics and mechanical drawings
- Education: BS in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Technology.
- 2+ years related work experience
- Fluent in Spanish and English
