The Senior Associate Manufacturing Engineer is a leadership role responsible for supporting manufacturing processes and optimizing production efficiency. This position involves assisting in the design and improvement of manufacturing processing, troubleshooting complex production issues, and contributing to process optimization.

- Leading, training and developing manufacturing support teams to establish and ensure top level performance.
- Leading the implementation of LEAN Manufacturing principles throughout the manufacturing process. Contributing to and assisting with Continuous Improvement/Kaizen activities throughout the plant.
- Prioritizing, managing, and resolving manufacturing processes, equipment/tooling and maintenance problems in real-time to ensure the best outcomes for our customers and the business.
- Identifying, planning, managing, and executing continuous improvement actions that reduce cost, cycle time, and lead time while increasing safety, quality, and repeatability.
- Overseeing the creation of equipment specifications for purchasing of capital equipment and the design of tooling, jigs, and fixtures to ensure effective results.
- Evaluating and executing time studies to establish engineering labor standards and routings.
- Preparing standard work documents for new and existing manufacturing processes.
- Leading projects and working teams to effectively initiate, plan, execute, monitor and close projects.
- Developing tooling or fixtures for new products and assembly processes.
- Organizing and coordinating Kaizen activities, including the planning and execution of Kaizen events/teams which includes the collection and preparation of proper prerequisite data for each Kaizen event. Monitoring and reporting on 90-day sustainment of Kaizen event improvements.
- Training employees on Continuous Improvement techniques as needed to assure complete familiarity and ease of use. This includes Principles of Lean Manufacturing, Takt Time, Standard Work, 5S, Standard Work Cell Layout, Value Stream Mapping and other LEAN Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement techniques.
- Implementing and monitoring sustainable visual management programs throughout the plant, including 5S, schedule adherence, and other shop floor reporting.
- Supporting plant-wide Safety initiatives.
- Additional duties as assigned.
What will help you thrive in this role?
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (General, Mechanical, or Electrical), or related field (required)
- 1-3 years of manufacturing engineering experience (required)
- 1-3 years of experience managing a team of engineers (required)
- Experience with automation applications and implementation a plus
- A desire to learn or experience in specifying, designing, and programming with Rockwell Automation control products, including PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, Motion Control, and Safety products/systems.
- Experience using AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks to produce and edit 3D models, 2D drawings and schematics.
- SAP experience desired
- Facility layout optimization experience desired
- Time Study and labor standards experience (required)
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision, technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models
- Hands on, driven, analytical, results-oriented, customer-centric, self-starter with strong change management skills and mechanical aptitude that enjoys leading diverse teams
- Demonstrated ability to work on multiple tasks and projects over a wide range of priorities
- Able to work with all levels of operational and professional staff
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in computer operation (AutoCAD and/or Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
- Attentive to details and accuracy
- Good time management skills
- Ability and willingness to travel
