Duties and Responsibilities
Design, develop, implement test processes & methodologies to facilitate production and the processing of customer returns
Serve as the manufacturing leader on new product introduction teams to provide all assembly & test processes, DFM/DFT/FMEA analysis, labor costs, capacity planning, quality plans, 3rd party data logistics
Develop and implement process improvements to reduce costs & cycle times, improve product quality and enhance operator safety/ergonomics
Interface with 3rd party suppliers to resolve test and product problems
Prioritize and implement multiple concurrent process improvement projects, alone or as part of a multifunctional team, to drive customer satisfaction and business productivity
Provide technical support as required for production processes and equipment.
Specify and procure new equipment & tooling to meet production and quality requirements.
Develop and maintain process and equipment instructions and procedures.
Train personnel on manufacturing equipment and procedures
Analyze manufacturing data as needed to keep processes compliant, improve yields, increase productivity
Position Overview
The Manufacturing Engineer will have broad responsibilities serving as test engineer as well as carrying out classic manufacturing engineering functions. Responsibilities include developing test processes, productivity increases, cycle time improvements, shop methods/procedures control, facilities layout, troubleshooting issues involving plant equipment, machinery and tooling.
Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent or minimum of 3 years performing manufacturing or engineering function developing processes
- Strong proficiency with VB.net programming (or equivalent) including test hardware and product interfaces
- Strong proficiency with MS SQL & Access queries and data mining
- Ability to analyze problems, identify root causes and provide effective efficient solutions.
