Division Overview
Hubbell Power Systems (HPS) engages in the design and manufacture of a wide variety of products used by utilities. Today, HPS is deeply engaged in product solutions for OSP Communication utility purposes, and has been actively growing that segment of the business. HPS roots have historically been in high voltage transmission, distribution, substation, underground products used by electric utilities. Position Overview

The Planner will develop a schedule to ensure fast and on-time delivery of customer orders, while working to reduce inventory and increase on-time performance.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Creates schedules to prepare long and short-range plans for plant production activities.
  • Balances production operations, considering product mix, makes calculations, and updates schedules accordingly.
  • Analyzes and adjusts, as necessary, production schedules that are affected by changes in raw material and equipment as well as fluctuations in customer demand.
  • Communicate production schedule changes to Product Managers and Customer Service.
  • Reviews BOM and routing changes.
  • Reviews and updates safety stock and reorder levels for raw, component, and finished goods
  • Review and maintain MRP data within SAP.
  • Work with the stock room, inventory and purchasing teams to ensure that sufficient parts are on hand to meet internal and external demand.
  • Works with the purchasing team on outsourcing components and finished goods.
  • Works to make shared decisions and recommendations concerning MRP schedules, product substitution and lead times.

Skills and Experience

  • Strong knowledge of MRP planning, experience in SAP is strongly preferred
  • 5+ years of planning experience in a production manufacturing environment
  • Microsoft Excel skills in data analysis and presentation
  • Possess effective communication skills, strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Forward thinking, continuous improvement mindset
  • High sense of urgency, ownership, & ability to multi-task
  • Must have the ability to work on a personal computer or other related equipment as required.


Bachelors Degree in Business
