Position Overview
Responsible for new product design and development, maintenance, product testing, developing customer solutions pertaining to the Utility markets (Communications, Power, Cable TV, OEM) to grow the sales and profitability.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Meet customer specifications: (R&D, concept generation / evaluation, costing, manufacturing process, material selection)
- Product line maintenance (cost reductions, drawing updates, engineering change requests and collaborating with various departments including Manufacturing, Mfg. Engineering & QA Departments)
- Product line variations (design, test & document product variations needed for specific customer demands)
- Perform or assist with mechanical and/or electrical testing needs to qualify or validate product performance.
- Collaborate with Product Manager in efforts to understand industry needs and define product line additions vital to gain greater market share.
- Assist Product Manager in assisting Customers with application needs/questions and may include customer training of accurate product application/installation.
Skills and Experience
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Manufacturing Engineering
- Must have CAD experience, with the ability to build and revise 3D models and drawings
- Knowledge of metal and plastic manufacturing processes
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
