Job Overview

The Sr. Quality Engineer will be responsible for the maintenance and reporting aspects of the quality management system at large, for the Wadsworth, Ohio Hubbell MOV Block Manufacturing Location. The Sr. Quality Engineer will demonstrate the ability to implement policies and procedures that enhance the awareness of quality, process controls and continuous improvement of the quality management system. Must be able to communicate and actively participate with all levels of management and operations personnel with regards to the advancement of quality initiatives for the organization. Must have strong data analysis, process improvement and project management background to assist in the generation, maintenance and reporting of corrective actions, metrics, process mapping, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and standard work.

A Day In The Life

  • Manages a site-wide, multi-product quality program, through both direct and indirect reporting relationships
  • Ensures quality product for inbound raw materials, WIP, and outbound finished goods
  • Assists with revising the quality manual to incorporate changes and enhancements
  • Monitor, evaluate and work with department managers to complete assigned corrective actions. Verify effectiveness of corrective actions implemented. Support the development of metrics to support the corrective action program
  • Provide data inputs to assist in the communication of metrics reporting for the facility to communicate to entire organization regarding the state of quality
  • Audit existing and new ISO processes/procedures for compliance based on ISO requirements and audit history
  • Possess working knowledge of quality terminology/methodology, trends, operation of measurement devices i.e., Optical Comparator, CMM, Six Sigma, Statistical Process Control (SPC), Design of Experiments (DOE), etc.
  • Develops and implements corrective actions for quality problems
  • Prepares all necessary reports as required by customers and staff personnel
  • Assist in the maintenance of supplier quality data, provide inputs for supplier scorecards to Purchasing
  • Conduct supplier audits, where applicable
  • Develops and facilitates continuous improvement activities in process controls of critical processes at CMC 

 

What will help you thrive in this role?

 

  • BS Degree in an Engineering Discipline required
  • Quality Certifications: SSGB, SSBB, CQA, CQM, are a plus.
  • Must possess a minimum of 5 years of Quality experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Microsoft Office Suite of tools (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Project, Visio, etc.)
  • Problem solving expertise. (8D, Root Cause Analysis, Risk, etc.)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong presentation skills
  • Must have the ability to assess & approve procedures, work instructions, and visual aids
  • Ability to interpret product and component prints
  • Basic working knowledge of QA related instrumentation and gages
  • Solid working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 requirements
