Job Overview
The Product Design Engineer will perform the design of product and process activities in support of new product development product line sustainment for Insulated Separable Connectors (Cable Accessories). The team you will be a part of is currently working on several highly visible projects and has more in the pipeline. This position will be located in Wadsworth, OH.

A Day In The Life
- Primary focus is new product development for the cable accessories business unit, including dead-break, load-break and dead-front arresters.
- Creating, updating, and reviewing design content requirements including but not limited to 3D models and associated 2D drawings, technical specifications, Multiphysics simulations, tolerance stack up, DFMEA, DFMA, and Design Validation Plans and Reports (DVP&R)
- Analyze Customer product returns and write technical reports describing root cause analysis.
- Assisting and preparation for on- and off-site testing, including cable preparation, parts assembly and being on the test site when required.
- Participate in standards development as part of IEEE/PES/ICC
- Providing technical assistance to Applications, Process, and Quality Engineering
- Travel requirements involving off-site testing of products, marketing support, field review of product applications or training activities
What will help you thrive in this role?
- Bachelor/Master of Science in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with experience in the medium voltage or electric utility industry is beneficial but not required.
- Autodesk Inventor/AutoCAD Experience
- Simulation software experience – Ansys, Comsol or other
- Ability to travel on business related trips
- Ability to walk around the manufacturing shop floor and lift 50 pounds as needed (part inspection, part fit check, product testing, etc.)
