Position Overview

The National Accounts Manager, reports to the Vice President (or Director), Strategic Accounts.  The scope of  responsibilities includes Wiring Device-Kellems, Premise Wiring, and Bryant. The Strategic Account Manager will have responsibility for the government vertical market with the goal of identifying and maximizing opportunities for the Wiring Systems Platform.

Duties and Responsibilities

Account responsibility directed at middle/upper management of National or Global Account targets:

  • Federal government, state or local blanket negotiations:
  • Proficient at cost containment - selling to the Strategic Account.
  • Write national/global specifications for all Hubbell products.
  • Communicate these specifications to RVPs, DMs, SAMs, TMs, and Int’l RMs as appropriate.  
  • Coordinate Strategic Account with local TMs, DMs, RVPs and Int’l RMs.
  • Conduct end user Shoptalk training seminars at Strategic and National accounts. Tie in other Hubbell Corporation Divisions, if feasible, i.e.:   Premise Wiring.
  • Identify and assist/ facilitate multi-divisional opportunities for the Hubbell Corporation. 

Support national distribution sales, training, marketing programs and national account targets i.e.:   Grainger, Graybar, Rexel, Vantage Group, Vanguard and SupplyForce.

  • Conduct Regional and/or District Hubbell sales/market & product training seminars.
  • Target mutual Strategic accounts in each region.  Coordinate with VP (or Director) Strategic Accounts and the SAM sales force.  Coordinate successes with DMs/TMs in order to maximize each Strategic Account sales potential.
  • Conduct plan presentations to RVPs, DMs, TMs, SAMs and Int’l RMs when feasible.

Assist District Managers in the training & development of new Hubbell FSRs when required:

•    Support DM training efforts in each region of responsibility.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Maintain account records.
  • Communicate through Vice President (or Director), Strategic Accounts on results, issues, problems and successes.
  • In conjunction with Vice President (or Director), Strategic Accounts & Region VPs, develop an annual sales/marketing plan to achieve regional, national objectives.
  • Communicate with Marketing on new products, product modifications and sales tools to better penetrate national accounts and pursue vertical market opportunities.
  • Maintain organizational charts & account profiles on target accounts.

Skills and Experience

Equivalent experience level of 8 years in the electrical industry. Candidates should be fully computer literate, with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point.


Bachelors Degree in Business or Marketing
