Division Overview

Hubbell Power Systems (HPS) engages in the design and manufacture of a wide variety of products used by utilities. Position Overview

The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting controls over Aclara SGS project operations at warehouses; including expenditure management, customer and Aclara inventory in warehouses, employee set up and payroll data, project cost data, as well as supporting period close for financial reporting.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review and assess controls over warehouse operations by physical observation and communication with key warehouse personnel.
  • Supervising periodic physical inventory counts and monthly reconciliations to Profield  (Work Order Management System) quantities.
  • Verify quantities, value and payment receipt for recycled materials; ensure all receipts are sent to the company lockbox.
  • Review purchase requisitions and receiving documentation for warehouse/project purchases to ensure compliance with Hubbell policy. 
  • Monitor supplies and equipment maintained in warehouse to ensure proper safekeeping and reporting.
  • Review Human Resource system reports to ensure employee data is accurate and complete.
  • Review time and attendance reviews by warehouse personnel to ensure compliance with Hubbell policy.
  • Review fleet management reports and warehouse personnel documentation of results of fleet monitoring to ensure compliance with warehouse policy.
  • Special projects as assigned. 

Skills and Experience


  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree with a major in Accounting or Finance.
  • Ability to travel 25-50% within the U.S.
  • Ability to work in warehouse offices and storage areas.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, strong communication and analytical skills, a self-starter who can work independently and execute projects effectively, able to work hands on at project warehouses and with project personnel.
  • Ability to effectively identify issues, propose solutions and communicate effectively up the chain of command. 


  • 1-2 years accounting experience
  • JD Edwards experience
  • Understanding of inventory and warehouse operations
