Job Overview
The Sr. Quality Manager for Electrical Products is responsible for leading, supervising, planning and directing activities concerned with the Quality Assurance of industrial processes, materials, and products for all locations within the Electrical Products Strategic Business Unit (SBU) of the Hubbell Electrical Solutions (HES) Segment and/or other locations as assigned.
A Day In The Life
- Monitor compliance with Hubbell’s Quality Policy and promote a culture with this approach
- Instill a mentality of driving to root cause of issues and implementing corrective and preventative actions
- In concert with the HES Quality Director and other SBU Quality Managers, develop quality policies, standards, and programs to drive standardization and continuous improvement of our quality systems and the quality of products and services to promote customer satisfaction
- Work with SBU leadership to ensure compliance with the company’s quality requirements, in addition to complying with customer and regulatory requirements for quality, safety and reliability
- Ensure proper quality control execution on product moves and new product (NPD/NPX) implementation
- Meet with customers, suppliers, quality representatives, and company personnel to discuss and resolve quality problems as required
- Partner with Sourcing/Procurement teams to drive supplier quality improvement, including effective quality-driven supplier evaluation, feedback and follow-up
- Provide ongoing analytical and problem-solving support to plant management and customers on critical quality problems as needed
- Educate quality personnel and business leaders on quality principles
What will help you thrive in this role?
- 10+ years of active experience in a manufacturing environment
- 5+ years of relevant and progressive experience in Quality Engineering/Management
- Equipped with a bachelor's degree in engineering, business management, industrial science, or statistics
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills across different levels throughout the organization in both Spanish and English
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, peers, customers and suppliers, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Proficiency in Problem Resolution (define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions)
- Ability to acquire a basic understanding of electrical and mechanical equipment, software and contracts
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, probability and statistical inference to practical situations
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, and attentive to details and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and under pressure
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team environment
- High-level conflict resolution ability
- SAP experience required
- Solid working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 requirements & leadership
- Knowledge/experience with UL/CSA and other regulatory agencies preferred
- 6-Sigma/ASQ Certifications a plus
- Previous experience in APQP and PPAP preferred
- Ability to travel in US & Mexico (up to 50%)
