Position Overview

The Electrical/Electronics Engineer is responsible for organization, execution and coordination of product development tasks, within a team of Engineers/Designers/Technicians as required. Responsible for product design and development of electronics and embedded systems of Wiring Device products.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and review electronic circuit design concepts, drawings and layouts
  • Design products in conformance with all necessary agency standards (UL, ETL, CSA, IEC, NEMA, IEEE, TIA, etc.)
  • Act as internal consultant providing technical guidance to engineering and other cross-functional teams.
  • Perform project management functions by working with cross-functional teams to implement the project objectives including budgeting responsibilities as allocated, developing project schedules and product specifications.
  • Produce full engineering documentation including detailed engineering drawings, bills of materials, performance specifications, and UL submittals.
  • Support existing products and designs

Education, Skills & Experience

  • BS Electrical or Computer Engineering Degree required
  • 3 to 5 years in design and test of Electrical and/or Electro-Mechanical products.
  • Experience with Altium Designer or equivalent, for schematic and PCB design.
  • Experience with embedded system development tools/IDEs for Microchip, NXP, ST or other microcontrollers.
  • Experience with SPICE or other simulation tools.
  • Proficient in design and prototyping of analog and digital electronic circuits, PCBs, and assemblies.
  • Experience with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multi-meters, spectrum analyzers, etc.
  • Strong project management skills in handling multiple simultaneous projects.
  • Preferred, Knowledge of manufacturing techniques, high-volume electronic assembly processes and certification standards such as UL, CSA, FCC, etc.
