Job Overview

Execute Engineering change documentation, such as bills of materials in SAP, installation instructions, Engineering specifications, etc. Scan Engineering documentation for electronic filing.

A Day In The Life

  • Review, process and implement changes within the SAP based Engineering change system as provided within work-flow approved ECM submittals.
  • Ensure conformance to Engineering and drafting procedures.
  • Check completed EC’s, drawings, bills of material, specifications and other new and revised documents prior to final release.
  • Issue new Raw Material Codes (RMC) as requested by Engineering.
  • Review EC document for described changes to verify completed work assignments match requirements defined on reference and source documents. Check CAD vault properties as defined by EC document.
  • Operate Engineering document scanning equipment and update their associated databases.
  • Execute electronic distribution of selectively controlled Engineering documentation for issuance to remote manufacturing locations, such as Hubbell Asia, Limited (HAL). This includes a process to verify images have been correctly imported to these virtual servers.
  • Scan documents for historical records and maintain data integrity of various indexes, primarily those pertaining to Engineering specifications such as, installation instructions and Engineering records stored at the iron mountain facility.

What will help you thrive in this role?

  • Five years experience in a documentation management position.
  • Working knowledge in MRP type software, specifically SAP.  
  • Specific experience with business software such as Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, with additional experience in desktop publishing software, such as Adobe Illustrator. 
  • Experience with InDesign or PageMaker software is a plus. 
  • General knowledge of Engineering scanning equipment and copy machines.  
  • Accuracy in filing, indexing, keyboarding, and electronic data management techniques.
  • Good communication and people skills. 
  • A self-starter capable of independently handling multiple tasks.
