Position Overview

The One Hubbell Finance (OHF) Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing certain general accounting activities being performed by the Shared Service Center (SSC). This role will support the COE Senior Accounting Manager to ensure accounting needs of the respective business groups are being met.

Duties and Responsibilities

Preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations too complex to transition to the SSC.
•    Review journal entries and key account reconciliations prepared by the SSC, ensuring proper supporting documentation exists for both. Troubleshoot exceptions and address questions as they arise.
•    Evaluation existing processes and where appropriate perform analysis to identify efficiencies and cost savings opportunities.  Leverage systems and technology knowledge to drive simplification efforts.
•    Ability to document and train SSC team members on new and evolving processes.
•    Assist SSC team on issue resolution / follow ups with business units.
•    Review of statistical data prepared by SSC.
•    Ensure compliance with existing company policies and procedures.
•    Oversee compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404, including internal control documentation and testing of internal controls.
•    Provide support for internal and external compliance audits.
•    Other special projects as necessary.

Skills and Experience

12 or more years involved in a large ($1 billion+ annual sales) transaction-based accounting function.
•    4-year degree in accounting with a strong understanding of US GAAP.
•    Experience in finance and accounting position(s) and strong background in accounting controls. 
•    Strong proficiency in MS Office Software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) at an advanced level.
•    Experience with a large-scale, enterprise accounting or CRM system (such as SAP or Oracle).
•    Detailed oriented with understanding of end-to-end processes.
•    Demonstrated success in a goal driven work environment.
•    Works well independently (under tight time constraints) and is a self-starter.
•    Works collaboratively with a diverse set of business group stakeholders, OHF team members, and SSC team members.
•    Excellent articulate written and verbal communication skills both in one-on-one or in group/team settings.


Bachelors Degree in Accounting
