Job Overview

The Shipper/Receiver is tasked with efficiently managing product flow within the Shipping/Receiving department and other designated areas. This role emphasizes adherence to lean management principles, quality standards, and safety protocols. Responsibilities include assembling, loading, storing, documenting, and distributing stock.

This position operates in an uncontrolled climate, which can be dusty and noisy. Candidates should be prepared to work in these conditions.

A Day In The Life

  • Operate forklifts and pallet jacks to transport goods, load and unload trucks and trailers.
  • Pick and pack products for distribution and storage using forklifts or pallet jacks.
  • Conduct inspections of trailers and contents to ensure compliance with safety and loading standards.
  • Read and interpret production work orders and blueprints to assemble products as required.
  • Verify details of inbound and outbound shipments (quantity, quality, packaging, etc.) and complete associated documentation.
  • Label outbound shipments and organize them into designated lanes; manage stock placement.
  • Participate in inventory management, including performing regular cycle counts.
  • Perform daily floor sweeps to maintain safety, cleanliness, and compliance with audit standards.
  • Keep the loading dock and shipping office well-maintained, ensuring all necessary supplies and equipment are available.
  • Ensure timely shipment and proper storage of all products daily.
  • Execute end-of-day audit tasks including closing procedures, cleanup, and ensuring all products are put away.

  • Comprehensive understanding of health and safety protocols.
  • Basic mathematical and record-keeping skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
