Job Overview
Responsible for all Product Management activities to assigned industrial products to maximize product line gross margin and unit volume growth. Provide all necessary product and technical support to the global field sales force to implement sales and marketing plans. Develop, maintain and grow market share through incremental New Product Development programs and market-based pricing decisions. Responsible for strategic and tactical initiatives to support product line growth.
A Day In The Life
- Develop a pricing strategy for all product responsibilities to maximize gross margin.
- Establish pricing levels and discount.
- Monitor market/industry pricing trends to adjust as necessary to meet margin goals.
- Work with Field Sales to establish competitive pricing to capture incremental new business opportunities and/or maintain market share.
- Manage and own all NPD projects from inception to completion.
- Coordinate and monitor progress and provide guidance relating to priorities, timing, or adjustments on all new product project development efforts.
- Participate in the development of new product ideas and opportunities.
- Develop business case for each NPD Phase 1 project.
- Initiate and submit for approval new product development projects.
- Responsible for introduction of new products in accordance with the Strategic Plan.
- Support global sales teams through product and system support and interactive customer faced presentations.
- Perform technical/ product training for inside and outside global sales teams.
- Manage existing/legacy product lines defining EOL and product longevity to maximize viability /profitability.
What will help you thrive in this role?
- BS Degree in business, engineering, or marketing preferred and/or 7+ years industry experience.
- 5 years of experience in a global engineering/sales support environment, preferably commercial communications.
- Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Global perspective and strong customer interaction skills
- PC skills require a strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Power Point & Excel together with SAP and SalesForce CRM.
- Ability to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally
- Self-starter, capable of managing multiple projects at once.
