Position Overview

This position is to provide project coordination, administrative support, and follow up from initial concept to complete installation of a wide range of projects including but not limited to: automation, facility remodel/improvements, method improvement, streamline processes, and cost reduction projects.  Will be responsible to communicate and coordinate activities with: various internal departments, IT teams, different levels of management, and outside vendors / suppliers.  Occasionally assist with hosting events related to assigned projects. Must have the ability to problem solve, estimate project costs, develop and submit requests for funding, provide administrative support to project team, document and communicate effectively, and coordinate/supervise various tasks to ensure on-time project completion.

In addition, recommend areas to improve: facility appearance and functionality, production methods, equipment performance, quality of product, and system uses that can streamline productivity.  Participate in activities that relate to improving the overall plant/warehouse performance and appearance.  May be required to occasionally work different shifts to facilitate project implementation.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Investigate project feasibility and perform cost studies for project justification.
  • Develop and submit AFE (Authority For Expenditure) to Management.
  • Review and coordinate projects.
  • Work with team members to specify equipment/materials, systems, timelines, team members, and other items/data required.
  • Coordinate the estimating, bidding, procurement and standardizations necessary for the projects.
  • Ensures project documents are complete, current, shared, and stored appropriately.
  • Schedule, coordinate, and lead regular team meetings.
  • Coordinate and supervise project progress and work with team members to trouble shoot, and completely implement the project tasks according to timeline.
  • Document and coordinate the training necessary for projects.
  • Optimize the final operation of the projects to ensure safe, reliable, efficient and cost effective.
  • Complete cost savings audit upon project completion.

Skills and Experience

  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects.
  • Organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Project Management education, PMP certification, or CAPM certification a plus.
  • Six Sigma Black/Green Belt, Lean experience a plus.
  • Logistical/Supply Chain training or experience a plus.
