Position Overview

Responsible for managing daily agent communication related to requests for technical services such as project design services, proposal development, competitive crossovers and submittal document creation. This effort is largely accomplished through regular maintenance of the HCS CAD email inbox by either answering or directing incoming questions to the appropriate HCS Tech Services Team Member. As incoming technical service requests are received, The Controls Project Coordinator is responsible for ensuring all necessary information is successfully collected, documented and managed in applicable databases, file directories and other applicable tools.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage requests for project design services, proposal development, competitive crossovers and submittal creation.
  • Maintain HCS CAD email by either answering or directing incoming questions to the appropriate HCS Tech Services Team Member.
  • Responsible for ensuring all necessary information is successfully collected, documented and managed in applicable databases, file directories and other applicable tools.
  • Support and answer questions from end users, installers, and sales agents arising from the use and application of our products.
  • Help customers select HCS products.
  • Assist with pre-sales technical support during the quotation process.
  • Handle escalated customer problems and communicate problems to the other managers in the business.
  • Works with Customer Service on customer issues. Act as liaison with CS to develop processes that support the customer’s needs.
  • Maintain good customer relations at all times.  Provide reliable and prompt communications to and from agents and distributors.  Must be able to analyze and evaluate problems that arise, and solve or get the answers expeditiously and thoroughly. 
  • Assist in maintenance of product cross reference to competitive products.
  • Create and modify concurrent connection diagrams (One-Lines) based off controls layouts and Engineer specifications for submittals and customer requests.
  • Provide market feedback to the New Product Development process and assist in the testing of new products against design specifications.
  • Assist in the preparation of technical information for field distribution.
  • Create weekly management reports using Powerpoint charts based on the information gathered while managing the CAD emails, as well as gathering/updating charts utilizing information from other departments.
  • Perform other duties as necessary. 

Skills and Experience

  • Associate or Bachelors degree in electrical engineering with 1-5 years experience in applications / drafting work OR High School with additional technical training (basic drafting / electrical).
  • Associates Degree in AutoCAD preferred.
  • 2+ years industry experience, which includes drafting and electrical systems
  • Must be technically adept with excellent communication skills (both written and oral)
