Job Overview
The technical services role will bridge the relationship between customers, customer service and sales with internal resources including marketing and the source plants to quickly gather information and respond to technical inquiries. This role will work closely with Hubbell India for administrative support to help Hubbell Canada.
A Day In The Life
- Responding to technical inquiries from both internal and external customers.
- Application support - I'm doing this, what do I use in this scenario / Product recommendations / referrals / Substitutions.
- Take offs (with the help of Hubbell India).
- Coordinate application drawings (with the help of Hubbell India).
- Assist with drawing takeoffs (with the help of Hubbell India).
- Cross reference - web based tools.
- Troubleshooting installation questions/issues - qualify and redirect to warranty or quality.
- Aggregate and publish FAQ information.
- Training for internal and external customers.
- Other duties as assigned
What will help you thrive in this role?
- Certified Electrical Technician or equivalent diploma through and accredited institution
- Understanding of the Canadian Electrical Codes
- Lighting controls background
- Understanding of applications/lighting layouts
- Office 365
- Bilingual preferred
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communications skills.
- Computer Skills: Must have strong Microsoft Office, e-mail and other PC application skills; AutoCAD skills in 3D CAD using Mechanical Desktop and/or Inventor.
- Problem Solving: Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully; Develops alternative solutions; Works well in group problem solving situations; Uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics.
- Project Management: Develops project plans; Coordinates projects; Communicates changes and progress; Completes projects
