Position Overview
The Continuous Improvement Specialist will drive the continuous improvement initiatives and programs through the DC by leveraging others as well as completing tasks firsthand.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and training throughout the DC using Lean tools and methodology
- Document current best methods of operations with Value Stream maps, Process maps and Standard Work documents
- Work with the Operations team to review and continually improve standardized processes and methods
- Develop visual management tools and systems to improve productivity, ensure material availability (kanban) and reduce errors
- Drive the productivity improvement plan to increase efficiency and reduce labor
- Develop and/or select workstations, equipment, and conveyance methods that improve motion economy, safety, and ergonomics
- Assist in the analysis, inspection, test, and/or integration to assure the quality of the receipts and deliveries
- Work the with Operations team on new approaches to improve the safety, quality, delivery, and cost effectiveness of the processes and systems
- Communicate significant issues or developments identified during standard work studies and provides recommended process improvement to operations leadership
- Prepare reports to communicate involvement and results of continuous improvement activities
- Train associates on Lean methodology to drive engagement at all levels of the facility

Skills and Experience
- Self-starter who is results oriented and exhibits responsibility, time management, and organizational skills
- Solid analytical skills, strong presence and the ability to communicate effectively
- Good interpersonal and communication skills to interact well with associates being studied and participating in developing improvements in their areas
- Ability to observe a process and break it down accurately into constituent steps
- Able influence change through multiple levels of the facility
- Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma required
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel required
- A belt certification in Lean or Operational Excellence
- SAP knowledge preferred
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
