Position Overview

<span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">3rd shift position - <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">Hours are from 11:00PM to 7:30AM Sunday through Thursday night with occasional OT on Friday nights. 

<span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">This position is responsible for setting up and operating CNC-Tsugami to cut, shape or form metal workpieces to specifications and performs all duties of CNC Operator II.

Duties and Responsibilities

<span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">Other duties may be assigned:

  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">Reviews set up sheet and specifications to determine set up procedure, machining sequence, and dimensions of finished workpiece.  Works to production schedule.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">Attaches fixture to machine bed and positions and secures workpiece in fixture according to set up instructions.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">Assembles cutting tools in toolholders and positions toolholders in machine tool changer as specified or inserts cutting tools in specified machine magazines.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">Manipulates controls and enters commands to index cutting tool to specified set point and to start machine.  Has basic understanding of G-Codes and M-Codes.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">Observes and listens to machine operation to detect malfunctions sush as work or damaged cutting tools, changes inserts, endmill, drills and reams as necessary.


Skills and Experience

GED or highschool diploma.  Must be mechanically inclined and possess CNC experience.
