Division Overview
Hubbell Power Systems (HPS) engages in the design and manufacture of a wide variety of products used by utilities. Today, HPS is deeply engaged in product solutions for OSP Communication utility purposes, and has been actively growing that segment of the business. HPS roots have historically been in high voltage transmission, distribution, substation, underground products used by electric utilities. HPS products are also used in the civil construction, transportation, gas and water industries.

Position Overview

The Business Process Engineer will focus on design for manufacturability while working with multiple departments across the organization including but not limited to Engineering, Product Management, Business Development, Supply Chain and Manufacturing. Develop, implement and execute process improvement projects to increase efficiencies.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Identify issues with the configurator after SAP go live - Research and resolve issues 
  • Ensure that other members of the Design Draft Team are trained on making changes/updates to the configurator.
  • Create a process to streamline the PO’s through SAP
  • Recreate BOMs in SAP and configure product as needed (anything over 3 years old)
  • Work with CTS to ensure Sales Orders are correct in SAP
  • Ensure that PO’s are correct in SAP
  • Diagnose problems with an organization’s current methodology, and how to redesign, reconstruct, and monitor processes to ensure they are effective.
  • Work with Product Management and Business Development to determine if we can reduce the number of configurations.
  • Determine why we have so many options and if they are necessary.
  • Coordinate work/projects with Hubbell India
  • Interaction with Product Management, Business Development, Sales Customer Service, Manufacturing and Supply Chain
  • Approximately 20% of time spent in Manufacturing
  • Facilitate integration of NPI and IPT actions
  • Lead Tiger Team supply chain challenges and facilitate cross-functional resolutions.
  • Assist all departments with SAP business process’

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education/experience
  • Minimum 3 years experience in manufacturing and/or project leadership
  • Familiar with standard manufacturing concepts, practices and procedures.
  • Advanced communication skills and the ability to work well with employees at all levels of the organization, as well as outside contractors and/or vendors.
  • Ability to respond to request in a professional and timely manner.
  • Planning, prioritization, organization and reporting skills.
  • Independent problem-solving skills.
  • Positive attitude, ability to adapt and contribute to a team environment.
