Job Overview
Hubbell PCX seeks a highly skilled and experienced Technical Sales Manager to drive revenue growth through technical sales initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in program management and manufacturing and a proven track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget. The position is based in Knightdale, North Carolina.
PCX Corporation is the leading designer and integrator of engineered and prefabricated electrical/mechanical systems for the modular data center, commercial, and industrial markets. Our product offerings include but are not limited to modular data centers, power equipment centers, custom integrated switchboards, and pre-manufactured indoor/outdoor electrical distribution centers.
As Manager of Technical Sales, you will lead the team in driving revenue growth through technical sales initiatives. The TSM with act as a technical SME for the AE team and will possess a strong technical background coupled with exceptional leadership and sales acumen. The successful candidate will be responsible for integrating engineered and prefabricated electrical/mechanical systems, driving sales growth, and maintaining customer satisfaction.
The successful candidate must have a proven track record in managing multiple concurrent projects in an independent environment. This individual will be tasked with maximizing project efficiency and profitability. They will help determine the scope and parameters for project design and implementation, identify project responsibilities, develop the full project-plan lifecycle, and coordinate with all internal and external stakeholders. Frequent interface with customers, associates, and suppliers is required, so excellent communication skills are essential. Project Reporting and tracking as well as maintaining Budgets and schedules are expected regularly.

A Day In The Life
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve corporate goals in the modular data center, commercial and industrial sectors.
- Manage and grow relationships with key customers, including conducting regular visits and ensuring their needs are met with our engineered solutions.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to understand and promote our product offerings, ensuring that our solutions meet the specific requirements and work to gain BoD.
- Provide technical presentations and demonstrations to clients and stakeholders, effectively communicating the features and benefits of prefabricated, modular systems.
- Prepare detailed and accurate sales reports and forecasts for management to aid with decision-making and strategy planning.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and potential for new products and markets.
- Negotiate contract terms with clients and communicate terms to stakeholders.
- Provide feedback from clients to enhance product performance and service delivery.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, maintaining a high standard of professional ethics.
What will help you thrive in this role?
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in sales or business development, preferably in the engineering, electrical, or mechanical sectors.
- Strong technical knowledge of modular data center configurations, commercial electrical systems, and industrial mechanical systems.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with executives and decision-makers.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Ability to understand and translate complex technical information for non-technical clients.
- Willingness to travel extensively to meet clients, attend conferences and lead sales initiatives.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- A strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset and a passion for driving business growth.
- Experience working with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and sales analytics tools.
- Experience with work with ERP systems (e.g. SAP)
- Willingness to travel as needed to meet with customers, attend industry events, and support sales activities.
- Ability to read electrical and mechanical blueprints and specifications.
- Experience in the integration of electrical and mechanical systems for custom applications.
- Quoting experience as it relates to commercial MEP construction.
- Experience in ISO9001:2015 and ERP operating environment.
- Good working knowledge of NEC, UL, and ETL for both low and medium-voltage applications
- Strong interpersonal skills for developing and functioning in a team environment.
- MS Office Software (Word, Excel, Project, etc.) and PowerBI a plus
