Job Overview
The Regional Sales Manager is instrumental in implementing regional goals and objectives to assure the overall company sales initiatives are met. Responsible, within an assigned geographic territory, for the specific brands and other Hubbell add-on products to distributors, end users and contractors. Additionally, is responsible for working with Engineers and Consultants in furthering the specifications of Hubbell products and/or solutions.
A Day In The Life
- Has responsibility for sales and coordination within the assigned Region for the full line of product application development and sales for products or services.
- Responsible for achievement of regional sales quota, across Hubbell Brands and market segments.
- Responsible for managing, meeting and reporting regional sales, travel, & entertainment budgets.
- Work with sales team in planning and completing all sales & marketing plans with distributor partners and end-users
- Communications with End-users are organized, professional, and objectives are met.
- Carefully monitor local competitive threats and opportunities, local economic and pricing trends, and changes to regional channels of distribution.
- Established and maintain high level contacts with all customers and buying influences within the region.
- Timely reporting on forecast, on market, distributor(s), end-user(s), and projects when requested.
- Utilize CRM system as directed by BU management
- Works with other Hubbell disciplines to resolve commercial disputes, such as warranty claims, credit issues, product expedites, etc when necessary.
- Provides technical services / sales or presentation during the pre-bid.
- Completes monthly reports and special assignments on or before due dates.
- Maintains satisfactory call frequencies with all major customer responsibilities within the region.
- Develops expertise in the products and systems represented in order to act as a resource for agencies in training and making joint calls with sales representatives and in helping close orders and/or specifications.
- Works in conjunction with other Hubbell personnel as necessary to secure orders.
- Acts as Regional resource for training on the appropriate products or services with personnel, as necessary.
What will help you thrive in this role?
- 4-8 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Agent sales or specification sales experience is preferred. Additional experience working with Electrical Distributors desired.
- 4-8 years of comprehensive knowledge/experience in sales, with electrical based knowledge is desired.
- Heavy Industrial or Commercial Industry experience preferred
- Must be proficient in MS Office applications, e-mail and other PC application skills.
- Valid Driver's License
- Strong written and verbal communications skills.
- Ability to Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully; Develops alternative solutions; Works well in group problem solving situations; Uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills are required.
- Previous sales presentation skills are a must, as are excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Must be a self-starter and highly motivated. Will work from a home office within the Region.
