Job Overview
Contribute toward the efficient operation plant wide, by performing various tasks for the departments and utilizing a good knowledge of maintenance, electrical, and building knowledge while maintaining current ISO requirements, all safety requirements, and good housekeeping standards.
- Assists supervisor with directed duties.
- Assists supervisor with the day to day management of other technicians.
- Prioritizing issues and manpower based on production needs.
- Assist in training junior technicians to improve their troubleshooting and equipment knowledge.
- Other duties as directed by supervision.
- Close out PM work orders upon completion.
A Day In The Life
- Conducting routine inspections of premises and equipment.
- Performing preventive maintenance.
- Performing repairs and maintenance for machines, production equipment and facility.
- Helping oversee contractors when professional repairs are necessary.
- Diagnosing mechanical issues and correcting them.
- Diagnosing electrical/electronic issues and correcting them.
- Designing/Installing electrical systems for equipment. From distribution to equipment safety circuits.
What will help you thrive in this role?
- Knowledge and experience with the following:
- Industrial Electrical systems – 480V systems, sizing wire for specific applications, specifying proper equipment i.e. transformers, breakers, disconnects, etc.
- Industrial Electronics systems – PLC, HMI, Controllers, Safety devices, etc.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawing and schematics.
- Industrial Hydraulic systems – Pumps, valves, motors, cylinders, actuators, etc.
- Ability to read and interpret hydraulic drawing and schematics.
- Industrial Pneumatic Systems – Compressors, dryers, drivers, motors, cylinders, actuators, etc.
- Ability to read and interpret pneumatic drawing and schematics.
- Industrial mechanical systems – Motors, pumps, gearboxes, linkages, belts, gears, etc.
- Ability to read and interpret machine/part drawings.
- Ability to use maintenance/shop equipment – Mill and lathe, drill press, welding equipment, grinders, flame cutting equipment, handle held power tools, etc.
- Must have computer skills to be able to complete the following: Be able to help source parts that are needed using current vendors, communicate via email, use CMMS system to track equipment and make changes as needed.
- Must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily and meet the physical demands to successfully perform the essential function of this job.
