If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as Lead Manager Sourcing - MRO.  In this highly visible role, you will be responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies for Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) as well as Standard Hardware across our extensive network of over 80 sites globally, representing more than $100 million in annual spend. You will lead and mentor a small team, while collaborating closely with a diverse range of stakeholders, from production floor personnel to C-suite executives. This position offers a hybrid work schedule, requiring presence in our office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, and optional remote work on Monday and Friday (on occasion, alternative schedules may be needed based on business needs). This role anticipates approximately 20-30% overnight travel to support global initiatives.
 

A Day In The Life

  • Develop and implement comprehensive global sourcing strategies for MRO categories, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and delivering significant cost savings, quality improvements, and risk mitigation.
  • Lead and execute complex sourcing projects, including RFx processes, negotiations, contract management, and supplier relationship management.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with a wide range of internal stakeholders, effectively communicating sourcing strategies, project status, and results to various levels of the organization, including plant management, and executive leadership.
  • Manage and negotiate vendor payment terms to drive free cash flow and improve DPO (days payable outstanding) for the enterprise 
  • Develop strategies for the mitigation of risk in the supply chain
  • Provide benchmarking studies and market analysis
  • Navigate and influence within a complex matrix organization, demonstrating a strong understanding of corporate expectations and the ability to build consensus across diverse viewpoints.
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers, ensuring adherence to quality standards, service levels, and ethical practices.
  • Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for continuous improvement in sourcing processes and cost optimization.
  • Manage supplier performance, track key metrics, and drive corrective actions as needed.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to direct reports, fostering their professional growth and development.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant Hubbell policies and procedures.
  • Travel approximately 20-30% to support global sourcing initiatives and site engagement.
  • Balance workload across all Hubbell Incorporated sites and the two Hubbell Segments; Hubbell Utility Systems (HUS) and Hubbell Electrical Solutions (HES) 
     

What will help you thrive in this role?

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Finance, Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing, with a strong emphasis on indirect materials (MRO).
  • Extensive experience with enterprise-wide, or at least multi-site, multi-million-dollar vendor contract planning, negotiation, implementation and maintenance for goods and/or services relevant to MRO and Standard Hardware
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing global sourcing strategies that have resulted in significant cost savings and value creation.
  • Proven ability to effectively manage complex sourcing projects from initiation to completion.
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication (both written and verbal), and presentation skills, with the ability to tailor communication to diverse audiences.
  • Strong understanding of corporate politics and the ability to navigate and influence effectively within a matrix organization.
  • Experience working with and presenting to all levels of leadership, including C-suite executives.
  • Proficiency in utilizing ERP systems and e-sourcing tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience managing direct reports is highly preferred.
  • Global sourcing experience is essential.
  • Project Management Professional certification (PMP) is a plus
