Job Overview

A Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for all Hubbell employees and that all necessary repairs/replacements are done in timely manner for best possible production output. 

Starting base pay is $25.00- $30.00 an hour depending on experience.

2nd Shift:  Monday - Friday 1:30pm - 10:00pm. 

A Day In The Life

•    Perform general and preventative maintenance on electrical fixtures, machines, equipment, hydraulic equipment, and building
•    Perform general grounds and building maintenance.
•    Work from electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical blue prints
•    Determine need for repair or replacements of equipment, etc
•    Refurbish and/or rebuild equipment as necessary.
•    Monitor and/or test equipment to ensure all safety and codes are correct.
•    Ensure that equipment safeguards and protective devises are operational at all times.
•    Construct and maintain all fixtures, units and sections.
•    Request needed supplies for building and equipment maintenance.
•    Operate fork truck as needed.
•    Maintain a clean and safe work area.
•    Regular attendance and punctuality is required
•    Overtime, including weekends, as needed could be mandatory
•    Must wear all PPE required for the specific work area

Required Qualifications:
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
·    Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills normally acquired through a high school diploma or GED.
·    Four (4) years experience in general electrical, mechanical, and/or auto maintenance
·    Two (2) years experience w/ pumps, & motors.
·    Must have and/or be able to obtain fork truck certification.
·    Must have a complete compliment of standard industrial tools needed to maintenance all types of equipment.
·    Must be able to read electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic prints and schematics.
·    Have basic knowledge of PLC trouble shooting.
REASONING ABILITY:
·    Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but involved written or oral instructions.
·    Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
·    Ability to prioritize workload and complete tasks in a timely manner
·    Knowledge of electrical and mechanical equipment, fixtures, and codes.
·    Knowledge of proper use of safety equipment; i.e. safety glasses, ear plugs, and work boots where necessary.
Physical Demands:
•    Lifting up to 35 pounds
•    Occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, or bend.
•    Work at heights of up to 30 feet above the ground.
•    Work around electricity.
•    Lift, pull, push and reach using a full range of motion.
•    Work in dusty, smoky, and wet areas at times.
•    Work usually takes place in a manufacturing environment where conditions can be reflective of the outside elements.
