Job Overview

A Day In The Life

  • Must follow PCX safety guidelines and requirements
  • Fabricates, and repairs metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques and operating various welding devices.
  • Interprets blueprints, specifications, diagrams, or schematics to determine appropriate welding process with assistance from supervision.
  • Being a Welder I inspects completed welds to determine structural soundness.
  • Familiar with and complies with all safety requirements and protocols for working in a hazardous environment.
  • Welder I may be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty.

  • High School diploma (or equivalence) preferred.
  • Able to lift 35# consistently.
  • Ability to work 10 hours or more per day and weekends as required.
  • requires 1-4 years of related experience or may have 0 years of experience plus an associate degree, or additional training, or certification.
