Division Overview
Hubbell Power Systems (HPS) engages in the design and manufacture of a wide variety of products used by utilities. Today, HPS is deeply engaged in product solutions for OSP Communication utility purposes, and has been actively growing that segment of the business. HPS roots have historically been in high voltage transmission, distribution, substation, underground products used by electric utilities. HPS products are also used in the civil construction, transportation, gas and water industries.

Position Overview

Work in casting department producing thermoset casted parts of various sizes operating numerically controlled computerized Autocasting machines, hand mixing and pour methods.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Implement Company safety and break policies, ensure all employees work in a safe manner, follow directions, and wear company issued Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Immediately stop any unsafe activity, assess all accidents, and report to Plant Manager.
2. Have excellent knowledge of Polymer Concrete casting manufacturing methods using thermoset polyester resin based, woven fiberglass, and inorganic filler materials, match composite mold/tools dressing and setup, operation of numerically controlled computerized Autocasting machines, hand mixing and pouring. Fiberglass cutting and kitting and part delflashing/finishing operations.
3. Assess and maintain necessary raw material inventory levels, schedule current day and weekly production needs to ensure department has enough raw material stock material to complete their daily output requirements.
4. Ability to read and understand shop drawings, lead and train others in the department.
5. Ensure department personnel follow all Company and safety policies.
6. Ask questions when unsure of work safety and through-put quantity requirements.
7. Keep area clean, follow good housekeeping practices.

Skills and Experience

1. Ability to work in a group environment, give instructions, lead and train others as needed.
2. Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
3. Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude.


1 Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
2 Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with company policies
3 Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, work in a fast paced environment with repetitive motion,
clutch, lift, grab, bend, stoop, push and pull with no difficulties, be on feet during work shift, and clearly
communicate issues.
