1st Shift Grinder- Chatsworth, CA

Job Overview

Hubbell | Armorcast Products is currently searching for a 1st Shift Grinder. The incumbent will be part of a growing and diverse team during a time of growth.  The candidate will work in our grinding area de-flashing, grinding, drilling, and assembling polymer concrete boxes of various sizes. The starting base pay begins at $21.25 for a grinder position. In addition, as a newly hired employee, you will be eligible to receive a $1000 retention bonus after the 90th day with Hubbell. Benefits begin the first of the month following hire date. 

A Day In The Life

• Deflash, grind, and drill using various tools
• Learn how to read and interpret drawings 
• Work in an efficient manner toward departmental goals.    
• Keep area clean, follow good housekeeping practices.
• Follow Company safety and break policies, follow directions, and wear company issued Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Immediately report any unsafe activity or accident to area Supervisor.

What will help you thrive in this role?

Education and/or work experience requirements:

• Heavy manufacturing or construction experience preferred 
• High school diploma preferred but not required.

Required qualifications, knowledge, skills, ability:

• Experience working with small grinders, hole saws, or sanders desired
• Use of tools such as hand held grinders, hole saws, sanders and other small tools
• Respirator fit test required for the position.
• Ability to follow instructions.
• Ability to work in a group environment, and ask for help when needed.
• Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
• Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude.

Physical requirements:

• Ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
• Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with company policies
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, work in a fast-paced environment with repetitive motion, clutch, lift, grab, bend, stoop, push and pull with no difficulties, be on feet during the work shift, and clearly
