A Day In The Life
- Coordinates all activities related to receiving, storage, conveyance and inventory control.
- Maintains and improves the cycle count program including assigning counters, coordinating transactions, root cause analysis of discrepancies and implementation of countermeasures.
- Establish and maintain inventory management in ERP system including establishment of locations and location specific inventory accuracy.
- Manage and organize the external facility areas such as the yard, external material storage, and other areas designated by the Materials Manager.
- Arranges for disposal of obsolete materials.
- Capture and demonstrate improved metrics as specified by management.
- Establish and maintain material flow objectives with Production or other areas designated by the Materials Manager
- Participate in Continuous Improvement activities, especially regarding facility layout, pull systems, 5S/6S, warehousing technologies and workflow.
- Supervises Receiving, Material Handler & Inventory Control as direct reports.
What will help you thrive in this role?
- 5 years of warehouse experience.
- Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two years plus related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organizations.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral of diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software, Spreadsheet software and Manufacturing software.
