Division Overview
Hubbell Power Systems (HPS) engages in the design and manufacture of a wide variety of products used by utilities. Today, HPS is deeply engaged in product solutions for OSP Communication utility purposes, and has been actively growing that segment of the business. HPS roots have historically been in high voltage transmission, distribution, substation, underground products used by electric utilities. HPS products are also used in the civil construction, transportation, gas and water industries.

Position Overview

We are adding a Production Supervisor to our team!


The Production Supervisor will be a hands-on individual with responsibility for developing people and processes. 

Duties and Responsibilities


  • Maintain acceptable safety, quality, and productivity levels throughout the facility.
  • Actively work towards making the shift a strong performing team by mentoring, leading, and developing supporting staff.
  • Help to build culture in which passion for continuous improvement is innate.
  • Collaborate with other departmental managers to understand all aspects of operational development.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and performance management following company policy.
  • Recommend changes to manufacturing processes and tooling.
  • Coordinate and maintain inventory transactions following acceptable company policies.
  • Lead the manufacturing team to assure that the needs of internal and external customers are met.
  • Responsible for continuous improvement within the manufacturing department (safety, quality, on-time delivery, productivity, and training).
  • Support other Company initiatives, including standard methodology implementation, while striving to maintain and improve business metrics.
  • Inspect machines and equipment to ensure specific operations performance and optimum utilization.
  • Ensure compliance with all OSHA standards in the workplace.
  • Resolve employee conflicts and work with Human Resources and other management to initiate appropriate action.
  • Facilitate a work environment that supports a safe and healthy culture.

Skills and Experience


  • 3 to 5 years production supervisory experience with exposure to metal forming, machining, coating, welding, and/or equivalent experience.
  • Solid understanding of hour by hour tool or comparable hourly metric.
  • Must have a solid understanding and demonstrated implementation of Lean Principles: identification of waste and its subsequent elimination, Pull Systems, Kanban and replenishment systems, TPM, 5S/Workplace organization, Visual Management SMED, Standard Work, Flow Concepts, and Level Load Scheduling.
  • Proven track record of implementing and sustaining change in a manufacturing environment.
