Job Overview

The Receiving Clerk is responsible for receiving deliveries, verifying receipts, accepting shipments and distributing materials and parts coming into the company.

A Day In The Life

  • Receives material, parts products, tools or supplies in receiving, ensures items received match the purchase order and the quantity matches the purchase order requirement.
  • Works with Purchasing or vendors to resolve receipt discrepancies.
  • Unloads freight carriers and signs freight bills of lading.
  • Generates all receiving documents, delivers product to the proper inventory location, department or personnel and ensures that non-inventory items are issued to and signed by the requisitioner where required.
  • Perform inspections on parts, components and materials in accordance with the ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
  • Responsible for documenting non-conformance material issues and works closely with the Material Disposition Review Board to resolve issues to ensure high level of quality standard is maintained.
  • Processes inventory transactions via SAP and assist other stock personnel with on-line transactions.
  • Maintains inventory and makes changes to inventory locations on SAP when necessary.
  • Cycle-counts material on a routine basis in a conscientious manner and with the highest accuracy and performs re-counts and analysis of variances and assists the Materials Manager in identifying areas of improvement to maximize inventory accuracy in the stockroom, work cells and backflush area.
  • Assist the Supervisor in the maintenance and organization of the stockroom to ensure efficient and safe material handling.
  • Directs, receives and stages customer supplied equipment/RMA’s in appropriate areas

  • Requires education generally equivalent to a High School Diploma, plus some specialized training.
  • Requires 3-12 months of relevant experience.
  • Requires mathematical skills that require the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide and perform metric conversions.
  • Requires good oral and written communication skills in order to interact with employees.
  • Must be able to read and understand blueprints and warehouse paperwork.
