Position Overview

The Corporate Strategy Intern will have an immersive experience learning how to plan for business growth. Learning research and forecasting techniques in order to stay updated on effects of changing business environments to Hubbell’s core business, brands; including positioning in competitive landscape. Focusing on these skills and opportunities to sure up defensive and offensive strategies to sustain business growth will be introduced. This Intern will lead a detailed assessment of a core business brand to HHI. The Intern will do an in depth review leveraging PESTLE and SWOT tools. The project will conclude with a presentation to the Director of Strategy and VPGM as well as Brand GM of the chosen study.

Duties and Responsibilities

Roles and Responsibilities will vary by Hubbell business location, but may include the following:

  • Gained knowledge of the industry as it pertains to the Hubbell business location
  • Experience in planning and organizational skills
  • Review current marketing program activities to make recommendations for changes/improvement opportunities
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Detailed roles and responsibilities will be outlined dependent on business Group, location and the project outlined

Expectations: The intern will be expected to work full-time at 40 hours/week and will be compensated on an hourly basis.

Skills and Experience

Student must be enrolled in an accredited university working towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in the following disciplines: (e.g. Marketing, Business, Business Administration, Sales, International Business, Economics, Finance, Data Analytics or related degree)

  • Minimum GPA requirement of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
  • For the Strategy role students having solid data analytics skills and working knowledge of Excel, and other macro/micro economics interests would be beneficial
