Position Overview

This position will work closely with Design and Mechanical Engineering using SolidWorks.  

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create 3-D models and 2-D drawings for multiple product lines
  • Create detailed 2-D component and assembly drawings from customer and vendor drawings or models
  • Per engineer's general direction, produce and/or revise drawings.
  • Provide feedback to appropriate engineer as to problems or questions related work in progress. 
  • Resolve drawing related manufacturing and/or purchasing issues with appropriate plant personnel.
  • Analyze dimension requirements and apply appropriate tolerance specifications as required.
  • Provide working copies of drawings to engineers and production personnel as necessary.
  • Acquire technical data via catalogs, the internet, vendors, to create models and drawings
  • Transform initial rough product designs or sketches into working models and documents.
  • Utilize knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematics, materials, and other physical sciences to complete drawings

Skills and Experience

  • Must have at least 2 years of practical AutoCad, SolidWorks or Inventor experience.
  • Microsoft Office and Outlook.  Familiarity with spreadsheets and other business applications is desired.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate in English.


Associates Degree in Engineering General or Other Technology
