Job Overview
The Materials and Logistics Manager has the sole responsibility for all material required to support our Solon manufacturing. They will coordinate with engineering and other necessary departments to ensure bill of materials (BOM), change notices (CN), deviations and drawings are accurate and released in Fusion Lifecycle Program (FLC). They will also be directly responsible for all warehouse logistics for shipping, receiving and inventory control.

A Day In The Life
- Coordinate printed circuit board requirements and deliveries with Supply Chain department.
- Participate in monthly AGM and DCU supply/demand meetings, provide recommendations for DCU boards to support manufacturing.
- Utilize SAP for all purchase orders to support manufacturing product(s).
- Upload monthly DCU Forecast into our current enterprise resource management (ERP) system.
- Coordinate with engineering for changes, revisions, drawings to our products.
- Review all CN’s affecting Solon production.
- Perform part number assignment form (PNAF) process from FLC for existing and NPI production.
- Perform technical approver functions for FLC release processes.
- Perform new part quoting process.
- Participate in Operations meeting to provide purchasing updates on component delivery
- Manage supplier relationships to help reduce lead times, lower material and shipping costs for manufactured products for Solon production.
- Review new suppliers as alternate sources, lower cost of materials, create and coordinate change requests (CR’s) for approval.
- Maintain accurate reporting and documentation for inventory, receiving, shipping, material movement and Bill of Lading transactions.
- Adhere to Hubbell established routing instructions for inbound, outbound, TL, and LTL shipments
- Facilitate annual physical inventory / cycle counting program as required.
- Manage inventory safety stock levels in our current branch plant locations.
- Perform quarterly inventory analysis for all Solon branch plants; review with finance and operations
- Review and set standard cost at fiscal year-end with finance and operations.
- Manage all inventory transactions within department.
Additional Responsibilities
- Perform MRP/MPS functions as required to support manufacturing and supply chain processes.
- Review processes from material coordinator relating to forecast, production schedule, material shortages and planned work orders.
- Participate in New Product Introduction (NPI) meetings.
- Review BOM’s, attend weekly meetings to support our change coordination board (CCB).
- Manage soft-tooling for engineering and Alpha material support.
- Maintain employee discipline and adherence to department and company policies.
- Create a safe and positive work environment for employees.
- Enforce best practice methods for proper housekeeping and attention to detail.
What will help you thrive in this role?
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in business and/or Inventory Management. In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, an Associates or Technical Certificate with 10 or more years of related experience will be considered.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Materials or Procurement role in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills and the ability to interact with individuals at all levels within the organization.
- Proficient in MS Office applications, business related and inventory control software(s).
- Ability to analyze financial and technical data in relation to material costs and designs.
- Solid understanding of supply chain management.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of SAP ERP system.
- Certification(s) in Supply Chain and/or Purchasing Management.
