Position Overview

Under the direction, or general direction, of the Manager Business Line, this position analyzes materials need, according to forecast, process requirements for material, expedite and get material to manufacturing areas on time to meet production schedules and maintain inventory level at requirements.  Sets schedules, establishes priorities and monitors usages to support demands.  Performs activities ensuring the accomplishments of production, quality, and cost related objectives for Hubbell Caribe Limited (“HCL”).  Adheres to the compliance in the “HCL” for quality product certifications, such as: Underwriters Laboratories, Canadian Standards Association, and compliance with the established Quality System as required by the International Standardization Organization 9001:2015, ANSI / ISO /ASQ Q9001-2015.  Gives complete support to Manufacturing Supervisors, Managers and Associates in activities focused to the promotion, training, maintenance and sustainment of continuous improvement in all processes.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Release Shop Orders by priority and due dates taking into consideration component availability.
  • Reschedule Shop Orders in accordance to Production Plan (expedite, de-expedite, cancel orders, etc.).
  • In coordination with Manufacturing Supervisors, close old shop orders to maintain database integrity.
  • Request or make corrections to part planning and inventory data in system database.  Notify or follow up with BOM’s & Routing associate on changes made or needed to Bills of Material and Routes.
  • In conjunction with area Supervisors, establishes inventory levels and ordering systems for Shop Floor Kanban Systems.
  • Review and coordinate periodic Kanban Resize for Shop Floor Kanban Systems.
  • Notify Cycle counters of known inventory count discrepancies.  Investigate root causes of recurrent component shortages and implement appropriate corrective actions.
  • Responsible to execute SAP releases for the Kanban parts to create a Purchase Requisition to Purchasing department.
  • Contributes and sustains Lean Manufacturing and keep abreast in the metrics such as: Takt Time, SQDC, EGE, and 5S.
  • Stimulates continuing efforts toward cost reduction and cost control in area of authority (overtime).
  • Stimulates development of ideas, programs, and new approaches among peers or subordinates.
  • Provides direct support to the Planner, Sr. during his/her absence.
  • Assumes additional duties and responsibilities related as required and assigned.
Education, Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor Degree in Business, Materials management a plus.
  • Ability to negotiate and persuade others to assist expediting the product through the process is vital.
  • Active Listening giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to the points being made and asking questions as appropriate.
  • Time Management, managing one’s own time and the time of others.
  • Critical Thinking using logic and reasoning to identify solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Oral and written comprehension communicates effective.
  • One year minimum SAP hands on experience.
