Position Overview

Responsible for 4-6 material Handlers.  Inniate and monitor the flow of materials through the manufacturing processes on an Inventory Management system.  Making necessary suggestions to improve safety, quality, productivity, schedule performance, 5S, and utilization of equipment and manpower in your area of responsibility.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervision of the Inventory Control group.
  • Develop and administer inventory control policies and procedures.
  • Administer a rigorous Cycle Counting and Corrective Actions regime throughout the plant
  • Manage the annual Physical Inventory process.
  • Develop and administer a “plan for every part” Every item in stock to have a formal policy: safety stock, lot size, expected inventory, min, max.
  • Develop Priority Planning and Dispatching capabilities to ensure that the right combination of materials is available at the right time.
  • Develop capabilities for Inventory Planning and reporting
  • Responsible for communicating with all departments on any inventory discrepancies or issues and investigate Root Cause.
  • Responsible for communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Planning the work associated with your area of responsibility and make the necessary adjustments on the floor to support the production schedule on time, and without delay.
  • Maintains working relationship with the union by following the terms of the collective bargaining agreement.
  • Assist Human Resources in resolving personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action.

Skills and Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment as it relates to inventory control.
  • Prior experience working in a supervisory role in a manufacturing plant environment is preferred.
  • Associates degree required. Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Supply Chain or Operations is preferred
  • Training & experience implementing LEAN manufacturing lines/cells is a plus.
  • Good overall understanding of the ERP system (SAP) is required. Expertise in the Materials Management modules.
  • Excellent Written & Verbal Communication and Interpersonal Skills are required.
  • Examples of: Initiative; Leadership; & Innovation (“Outside the box” thinking), are required.
  • Demonstrated skill in organizing work, setting priorities and planning ahead required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Project).
