Position Overview
This position assists Operations supervisory and management staff by providing support in areas such as labor relations, hourly personnel administration, hourly worker’s compensation and benefit & CNESST claims processing. Works with minimum supervision and exercises independent judgement as related to/or defined by each set of circumstances, with decisions based on established policies and procedures
Duties and Responsibilities
Handles the weekly payroll cycle with ADP
Coordinates with insurance carrier all non work related disability claims
Investigates and reports on Human Resource issues to Plant Manager and Human Resources Director .
Assists in administering hourly personnel policies
Benefit program coordination Handles the weekly payroll cycle with ADP.

Benefit program coordination
Assists in gathering and analyzing qualitative and quantitative data for special studies and reports.
Responds to inquiries from employees and other organizations regarding personnel matters
Coordinates recruiting activities for approved hourly positions.
Assists with creation and coordination of company events e.g. employee meetings and announcements.
Maintain annual 1% Quebec training files for all Quebec EE
Other duties as assigned
Skills and Experience
Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communications skills. Must be bi-lingual (English and French)
Computer Skills: Must have strong Microsoft Office, e-mail and other PC application skills.
Problem Solving: Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully; Develops alternative solutions; Works well in group problem solving situations; Uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics.
