Position Overview

Responsible for improving the effectiveness of the Quality Management System while providing customer support. Ensure that the voice of the customer is understood and systems are in place to control manufacturing processes within a lean environment that will improve customer satisfaction while minimizing non-value added activity also co-ordinate with internal/external suppliers to meet delivery targets with adherence to quality standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • All new NPD inspection plans creating and any tool/gage required
  • Complete 8D analysis on complex issues and process
  • Implement SPC on identified cells
  • Train quality personnel
  • Document controls
  • Develop test programs
  • Develop capability program on new and existing equipment/process
  • Assess the risk of a process using FMEA methodology
  • Revise QMS documents as needed to reflect process improvements
  • Improve supplier partnerships, quality, issue and control closures of SCARS as required.
  • Implement and maintain Process Certifications.
  • Lead and support MRB activities
  • Lead Root Cause Analysis activities to drive continuous improvement activates that impact top KPIs to the business
  • Interpret technical specifications and communicate requirements for shop floor use
  • Instruct and mentor employees as needed to improve QMS effectiveness.
  • Respond to customer CAR requests with appropriate and effective process improvements
  • Support Company-wide Lean initiatives.

Skills and Experience

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree or higher ---in engineering or other technical degree
  • Ability to write clear work instructions and supporting QMS documents in English.
  • Must be able to interpret blueprints, engineering sketches, and technical documents to determine appropriate measurement methods.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft WORD and EXCEL
  • Clear communication (oral and written) skills
  • Ability to keep accurate records

The Quality Engineer should have the following technical skills:             

  • A broad knowledge of Hubbell’s Platforms and related processes.
  • Knowledge of SAP R/3 implementation methodology and plans.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement practices, methodologies and tools.
  • Broad understanding of SAP R/3 modules and key functionality.
  • Broad knowledge of ERP systems and technologies.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of automated testing tools
  • Lean Six Sigma Training or certification
