Position Overview
Reporting to the Director Transmission & Substation Development, the Business Development Manager oversees the strategic growth of Hubbell Power Systems high voltage contractor and private market throughout Canada. The position requires the successful candidate to work from a home-based office.
The Business Development Manager, HV Accounts is largely responsible for driving market share through end user development, sales planning, sales objective execution, competitive displacement, specification advances, and engagement with existing and high potential customers.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Represent Hubbell Power Systems HV product offerings to contractors, renewables, and private market
- Achieve/exceed annual sales quota
- Increase functional knowledge of Hubbell product offerings to the target customer base
- Increase specification level of Hubbell products offering within HV market
- Oversee the project processes and communication planning with the Transmission & Substation Specialist Team, Territory Managers, Packager Solutions Manager and Regional Vice President, Canada.
- Collaborate with Business Unit marketing and engineering teams to drive innovation and new market offerings
- Provide intelligence and data reporting to all internal stakeholders
- Increase HPS market share through competitive displacement
- Develop and action HV market sales objectives on a monthly, quarterly, yearly and long term account model
- Work with Territory Managers, Regional Vice President, and Director Transmission & Substation to manage forecasting and budgetary processes
- Influence your peers with enthusiasm, assertiveness, and sales passion
Skills and Experience
- Ideal: Electrical, utility or energy market experience
- Ideal: Degree in Engineering, Business, Commerce, or Communications
- Ideal: Candidate located in the Toronto Metro Area, Edmonton or Calgary
- Required: 3 (+) years of field/technical sales experience in related industry
- Required: Exceptional communication skills and presentation abilities
- Required: Strong time management skills, ability to travel and self-motivated
- Required: Valid driver’s license and ability to travel 50%
- Required: Physical capability to enter construction sites and other non-office settings
- Required: Motivated self-starter comfortable working in a team environment
