Position Overview

The Tax Manager will have broad general experience in managing a variety of federal, state and international tax matters.  Candidates should also a have demonstrated track record of successfully identifying and implementing tax planning initiatives to support effective tax rate and cash tax objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary tax contact and support for our HLI and HPS business units
  • Develop a strong understanding of the supported business units in order to effectively identify and manage tax planning opportunities and risks
  • Develop relationships with business unit employees including executive, finance and operation employees to become a business unit partner
  • Primary advisor on federal, state and international tax issues related to the supported business units
  • Manage state tax credits/ state tax incentives
  • Support due diligence, structuring and integration of acquisitions, mergers and reorganizations from a tax perspective
  • Assist with domestic tax audits including: federal, state income tax, sales & use and property tax audits
  • Consult on US sales/use tax issues
  • Consult on VAT/GST tax issues
  • Support federal, state, and foreign compliance and tax accounting

Skills and Experience

  • 7 - 10 years experience in public accounting, law firm and/or in a U.S. public multinational company.
  • Excellent managerial, organizational, and verbal / written communication skills. Must be able to successfully communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Proven experience developing relationships and a desire to develop a comprehensive base knowledge of the Company’s business operations.
  • Must have broad exposure and knowledge of US federal, state and international income tax, possess strong issue recognition, and be proficient at tax research.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills (be able to handle assigned projects and resolve issues.) Demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
  • Must possess ability to manage multiple projects effectively and efficiently and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.


Preferred Experience:

  • CPA and JD/MST preferred
  • Current experience with SAP and Hyperion a plus


Travel - 20-30% Annually (Domestic and international)


Bachelors Degree in Finance or Accounting
