Position Overview

The Hubbell Lighting Continuous Improvement team is seeking an experienced and driven individual with experience directly leading and executing improvements in the areas of cost, service, quality and safety. This role will provide the opportunity to make significant direct contribution across all areas of the business.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assumes leadership role on projects of moderate complexity and size with limited supervision. Able to work on complex tasks, lead teams, and manage multiple projects to completion.
  • Lead or support continuous improvement initiatives focused in areas such as:
    • Cost reduction
    • Productivity Improvement
    • Scrap Reduction
    • Lead Time Reduction
  • Project Management for assigned platform projects including budget responsibility
  • Identifies, evaluates and resolves project conflicts and issues. Identifies resource requirements and constraints for projects according to determined timelines and budgets.
  • Ensures best practices and procedures are implemented and followed
  • Lead projects while also providing value as an individual contributor.
  • Facilitate cross-functional teams (Brand Management, Engineering, Quality, Sourcing, Marketing, Operations) in attaining desired business objectives.
  • Identify and execute on areas of opportunities to support plants and product groups in achieving their financial goals.

Skills and Experience

  • 4 year degree in finance, business or a technical field
    •  MS Engineering or Business preferred
  • 5-10 years in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • 5 years in Engineering role actively implementing Lean principals
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work autonomously, while escalating where necessary, and possess acumen in executing business decisions.
  • Ability to plan work and anticipate organizational needs
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strategic thinker with a demonstrated ability to successfully develop, launch and execute multiple projects to target goals.
  • Strong facilitation and organization skills
  • Proficiency with MS Project (or similar), Excel, and PowerPoint is needed.
  • Experience with Lean and/or Six Sigma a plus
  • Experience with SAP a plus


Bachelors Degree in Engineering General
