Job Overview
Quality inspection position supporting the newly acquired Connector Products Incorporated (CPI) product line. Position reports directly to the Quality Manager and will play an active role in supporting and contributing to the targets of the business from a customer service perspective.
A Day In The Life
DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES
- Perform inspection related to incoming/roving/outgoing related to products being produced for the CPI product line respectively to check that dimensional, visual, fit aspects of raw material, machined, sub-assembly, and finished good comply with print requirements.
- Develop/maintain work instructions, standard operating procedures, and quality inspection documentation to support new product line.
- Perform Production First Article Inspection (FAI) to support CPI machining/assembly work areas and to perform FAIs in the qualification of suppliers to supplement production activities whenever the need arises.
- Maintain flow in the logging/disposition of products in quarantined areas to support Material Review Board (MRB).
- Assist with the identification of CPI materials (castings, raw material, sub-assembly components) to maintain flow and inventory levels of Production by leveraging SAP, performing dimensional checks, reviewing drawings, et cetera.
- Assists with quality training to ensure all employees within CPI (et al areas of plant) are educated on proper techniques to adhere to requirements and processes.
- Secure technical certification to support job duties and attend any training that enhances job capabilities.
- Other duties as assigned by the Quality Manager.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimal Skills
- Computer Skills - Basic computer, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Tools: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, ERP software (which can be trainable) – SAP, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Visio (helpful, but not required).
- Education and/or Experience – High School Diploma/GED required, Associate Degree preferred.
- Language Skills – Ability to communicate effectively with others verbally and written.
- Mathematical Skills – Basic mathematical skills are required. Ability to add, subtract multiply and divide.
- Physical Requirements – Required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms. Required to bend, stoop, and lift, up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance, peripheral and ability to adjust focus.
- Quality Skills – Understanding of quality terminology & practices; measurement device usage i.e., calipers, hardness testers, thread plugs, et al types of gages; understanding of inspection methods, sampling, measurement frequency, etc. Individual should understand ISO 9001, basic understanding of part drawings, critical thinking skills, and have exposure to/familiarity with manufacturing.
- Reasoning Ability – Ability to understand and carry out detailed written and verbal instructions. Ability to think critically; able to make decisions that could impact downstream processes.

- Bilingual in Spanish or French a plus
- ISO 9001:2015 Certified Internal or Lead Auditor
