Position Overview

Hubbell Control Solutions (HCS) is seeking a Field Project Coordinator to provide technical sales and support to our Lighting Controls and Connected Lighting products.  The Field Project Coordinator will support the regional manager, Hubbell Control Solutions distributors and dealers, follow-up on sales leads, and demonstrate products and training to dealers, distributors and end users on the use of HCS equipment. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists Sales and Regional Managers in sales support, working with distributors, reps and end users
  • Work with HCS Professional Services and Customer Service to define project requirements for opportunities
  • Coordinates sales calls with factory reps and distributors
  • Create and lead training classes; conduct training seminars for factory reps, distributors, and end users including training of customers on equipment
  • Provide equipment take-offs to assist in specification and quotation process
  • Able to produce layout lighting and control systems with specifications and risers
  • Keep informed of energy codes and assist in coordinating code-compliant designs to HCS customers
  • Assist in managing the demonstration equipment
  • Develops and maintain strong relationships with consultants and end users - act as HCS key contact with these customers
  • Manages and provides budget information for projects
  • Will manage start up for large projects that take more than 3 weeks and all PowerHUBB start ups
  • Organizes and participates in trade shows, sales training seminars and other informational sales events
  • Attends trade shows
  • May support Technical or Warranty Services as assigned
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science obtained through an accredited four-year program, or comparable business experience in increasingly responsible positions in the related discipline
  • 1-3 years previous job-related experience
  • Experience in lighting controls industry preferred
  • Familiarity with current Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, AGI, and other photometric software
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, lighting designers, sales representatives, electrical contractors, and distributors
  • Knowledge of complete HCS product line and equivalent competition
  • Self-motivated and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Able to provide timely, thorough, and accurate customer service
  • Strong background in architectural lighting systems (including basic understanding of lighting systems layout and wiring, HCS.)
  • Excellent presentation, sales, and communications skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills - able to deal with difficult personalities in high-stress situations
