Position Overview
Under the direction of the Customer Service Supervisor, the Customer Service Representative provides the best possible customer satisfaction to the organization's customers by addressing and resolving customer inquiries, problems, processing orders and acting as a liaison between the agent/customer and factory in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain satisfactory customer/agent relations with key accounts and agents
- Enter all purchase orders into SAP R/3 system
- Maintain status of purchase orders for assigned territory
- Respond to customer/agent inquiries
- Expedite orders while utilizing SAP R/3 functionality
- Work with multiple shipping facilities to insure expedient service
- Process customer/agent complaints and take corrective action
- All sales support activities
- Work with production to satisfy customer needs
- Monitor and reduce backorders
- Assist in duties of other correspondents in their absence
- Assist in telephone back up in the absence of other correspondents
- Maintain sales filing system for assigned accounts
- Maintain customer information files for assigned accounts
- Issue credits and debits
- Create RMA’s as needed
- Complete special projects as assigned
Skills and Experience
- Effective oral and written communications and presentation skills are essential, as are interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work effectively in a team environment is required.
- PC skills to include: The ability to gather and analyze statistical data and generate reports is necessary. MS Office software, such as Excel and Word, and other internal management.
- Organizational and analytical skills are required.
- The ability to work effectively with diverse populations is required.
- Must have SAP R/3 experience
- Must have understanding of the SAP Portal order entry system
- Must be responsible, responsive, thorough and organized with an eye for detail
- Must understand the importance of interaction between departments within the company
- Must have 2-5 years of customer service experience
- Must possess and apply a broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of customer service to the completion of difficult assignments.
