Division Overview
Hubbell Power Systems (HPS) engages in the design and manufacture of a wide variety of products used by utilities. Today, HPS is deeply engaged in product solutions for OSP Communication utility purposes, and has been actively growing that segment of the business. HPS roots have historically been in high voltage transmission, distribution, substation, underground products used by electric utilities. HPS products are also used in the civil construction, transportation, gas and water industries.

Duties and Responsibilities

PRIMARY PURPOSE: • Identifies MCTO projects • Manages projects from inception to implementation • Maintains a healthy pipeline of MCTO projects • Supports product development to find potential suppliers

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: • Work with Marketing, Pricing, Materials, and others to identify potential MCTO projects • Work with Buyers to determine best domestic sources • Find and develop new domestic sources, working with Corporate Category Managers as needed • Works with International Sourcing Team to process RFQs and evaluate suppliers • Process RFQs and perform needed cost analysis • Drive pricing negotiations • Write AFEs for capital, tooling, etc… as needed • Manage and report on the sample submission process • Manage the ramp up and ramp down process between suppliers • Process weekly and monthly reports as assigned • Maintain SAP item master • Maintain SAP vendor purchase information data 

Skills and Experience

RECOMMENDED EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:  Knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel • Understanding of International trade rules and guidelines 

  • Must have a minimum of five years of purchasing and/or experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must have strong experience working with MRP systems.
