Position Overview

The Hubbell Enterprise Marketing (HEM) Senior Associate, User Experience is responsible for executing UX programs for Hubbell solutions and brands enterprise-wide. The Senior Associate, User Experience will contribute to UX team activities from concept to production, collaborating with product departments. They are the constant champion of the user, employing innovative UX tools, techniques, and technologies to deliver best-in-class design across the enterprise.  Portfolio is required.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create UX designs, including scenarios, wireframes, prototypes, testing and defining functional specifications to meet client needs
  • Lead usability testing sessions with clients to ensure their voice is present in the design
  • Collaborate and participate on cross-functional teams to define and develop strategies, projects and processes 
  • Apply usability principles and activities to all aspects of product and design. Oversee their implementation with a high attention to detail
  • Ensure the success of UX strategy and champion the best possible user experience
  • Communicate user needs and prioritize appropriately throughout development process and across all touchpoints
  • Serve as the core UX designer on major projects with an ability to execute successfully with minimal support from team leads
  • Support fellow UX designers on projects with multiple designers
  • Work with team leads to define and develop experience strategy for projects
  • Articulate experience strategies, design decisions and present work to UX leads and stakeholders
  • Understand and utilize stakeholder or leadership feedback to improve designs

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in user experience, interaction design, graphic design, or other relevant field of study. Masters preferred.
  • 5+ years+ of design related experience
  • 3+ years+ of experience in user experience
  • Expertise with the Adobe Creative Suite and UX software tools such as Sketch, InVision and Omnigraffle.
  • Proven success in delivering product projects in a large scale and in a complex business setting
  • Lean UX and Design Thinking experience preferred
  • Excellence at gaining consensus across multiple departments and leadership levels
  • Stellar problem-solving skills, flexibility, and ability to effectively prioritize
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and presentation skills with exemplary attention to detail
  • Effectively present UX and UI deliverables and prototypes (wireframes, workflows, prototypes, etc.) to explain and negotiate design solutions to key stakeholders
  • Excellent critical and strategic thinking skills
  • Ability to influence cross function groups to a unified direction
  • Stays current on best design tools, processes, and practices
  • The ability to work with no supervision in delivering high quality work and capable of effectively collaborating with global, cross-functional teams as needed
  • Self-motivated and able to thrive in a result-driven environment
