Position Overview

HES is seeking Sourcing Manager that will be responsible for New Product sourcing activities on assigned projects. He/She will be responsible for ensuring timely communication with internal customers and project deliverables. Implements a Supply Chain Management strategy to drive commercial leverage, achieve lowest total costs, and ensure effective asset management as well as continuously improve quality, delivery, and cycle time performance of our supply base on NPD/NPX projects. He/She will implement policies and metrics to ensure that NPD/NPX projects are executed to meet business needs.  Works with Product Management and Engineering to define our NPD/NPX roadmap and ensure we have the supply base to support these new technologies/products. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage and track multiple NPD/NPX projects 
  • Ensure early Sourcing involvement in the projects to influence design to cost with engineering and product marketing 
  • Negotiate Development Agreements and Supplier Agreements with qualified suppliers 
  • Collaborate with Commodity Managers/Corporate Sourcing to align with global commodity strategies 
  • Ensure all New Product Development projects meet project cost and are launched on time 
  • Lead all RFQs for NPD/NPX  projects, ensuring total cost model evaluation and cross-functional alignment 
  • Lead efforts around make versus buy analysis
  • Ensure that all NPD/NPX supply chains are setup for post-launch success 

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business management, or related field is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of direct experience in strategic sourcing/commodity management/global supply management desired 
  • Negotiation experience with global suppliers with a proven track record in cost management 
  • Strong analytical skills (i.e. should cost modeling, quotation analysis, supplier selection) 
  • Demonstrated experience leading projects on a cross-functional team, with strong interpersonal and organizational skills 
  • Basic financial acumen to include total cost evaluation  
  • Ability to work independently in a matrixed environment and consistently meet critical deadlines and deliver accurate results.
  • Outstanding problem solving and analytical abilities. 
  • Ability to manipulate and interpret data, to provide meaningful and useful analysis for decision making purposes.
  • Proficiency with Excel a must, and all Microsoft Office applications, including Power BI a plus.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
